Briefly: The Who, Robbie Williams, 'NSync, hackers
The Who is scheduled to play a special benefit concert for U.K. charity Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall on Nov. 27. Special guests are tipped to include Paul Weller, Oasis' Noel Gallagher and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. The show will follow the Who's last Wembley Arena date on Nov. 16.
Robbie Williams has announced that he will play at Ireland's Landsdown Road Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, on July 6, 2001. He hopes to repeat the success he had with his show at Ireland's Slane Castle in 1998 for which tickets sold out hours after going on sale.
MTV.com reported that 'NSync will appear on "The Simpons" in February.
Webnoize reported that hackers have figured out how to remove four "watermarks" that the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) is considering for use as technology against music piracy. The SDMI is a music industry consortium.
The Associated Press reported that Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon and who was recently denied parole, now believes that he does not deserve to be released from prison. Prior to the parole hearing, AP reported that Chapman said that he should be released.
