Former Veruca Salt frontwoman Nina Gordon has announced plans to kick off a 28-date, headlining U.S. tour in Chicago on Oct. 24, according to her official website. Gordon is touring in support of her first solo release “Tonight and the Rest of My Life.”

Tickets to Gordon’s performances on Oct. 26 in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 28 in Minneapolis and Nov. 5 in Portland, Ore., are on sale now. Tickets to her Nov. 6 stop in Seattle and Nov. 9 stop in Eugene, Ore., go on sale Friday (10/13) at 4 p.m. PT, according to Ticketmaster.com. (LiveDaily is a publication of Ticketmaster.com.)

The Chicago date is a free show at the House of Blues, and will feature Gordon performing in the restaurant area of the establishment, according to a venue spokesperson. The show is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and only 300 people will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following the Oct. 24 show, Gordon has dates scheduled throughout the U.S. The tour will spend most of November in the West before heading back to the Midwest late in the month, and will then make its way into the Northeast in mid-December. A Dec. 17 stop in Boston is the last show on Gordon’s current itinerary, according to her official website.

“Tonight and the Rest of My Life” Gordon’s first post-Veruca Salt album, was released in June.

Gordon founded Veruca Salt in the early ‘90s with fellow guitarist-vocalist Louise Post. The group is best known for its breakthrough hit “Seether,” from its 1994 debut album “American Thighs.” In 1998, Gordon parted ways with the group to pursue a solo career. Post, meanwhile, formed a new Veruca Salt lineup and released the group’s most recent album, “Resolver,” in May.
