Travis' Fran Healy plans 'Chronological Acoustical Journey'

Travis frontman Fran Healy will take to the road with guitarist Andy Dunlop for the North American leg of an intimate acoustic tour dubbed "A Chronological Acoustical Journey Through the Travis Back Catalogue: Laugh Out Loud Stories, Scottish Accents, Handsome Scottish Men, Naked Torsos."

The unique acoustic trek begins Oct. 8 in San Francisco and works its way to the East Coast, with stops planned at theaters and clubs along the way, including a four-night run Oct. 9-12 in Los Angeles and six New York concerts slated for Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 10-12. Two Canadian performances--Oct. 30 in Toronto and Oct. 31 in Montreal--also made the cut. Details are shown below.

Inspired by Jack Kerouac and "the lure of the open road" according to a press release, the Scottish singer and accompanying guitarist will draw from the six albums Travis has released thus far, as well as EPs and B-sides that have emerged during the band's 14-year career.

"The show will start with the first song I wrote and end with the last song I wrote," Healy said in a press release. "Between these two bookends, we'll play a selection of songs running in chronological order."

"Ode to J. Smith," Travis' sixth and most recent studio set, surfaced last November, landing at No. 20 on the UK Albums Chart and peaking at No. 122 on The Billboard 200. Earlier this year, the Scottish indie-rockers promoted the record with a North American club tour, which wrapped in late April.
