Wolfmother lines up outing behind 'Cosmic Egg'

For the first time in more than two years, Wolfmother will head out on a headlining run of North America, this time to support its forthcoming album, "Cosmic Egg."

The Australian rockers will begin the trek Oct. 29 in Dallas, crisscrossing the country for the 20-city tour before the Nov. 24 conclusion in Los Angeles. One Canadian date--Nov. 21 in Vancouver--is also on the schedule. Details are shown below.

Heartless Bastards and Thenewno2 will provide opening support.

Pre-sale tickets for the US outing go on sale Sept. 16 via MusicToday. Wolfmother, with the help of the ticket retailer and Trees for the Future, will plant one tree in a third-world country for each pre-sale ticket sold.

"This is something I've wanted to do for some time," frontman Andrew Stockdale said in a press release. "It's great to have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our environment."

"Cosmic Egg," Wolfmother's second studio set and the follow-up to their 2006 full-length debut, will hit shelves stateside Oct. 27. The hard-rock quartet recorded the new album with UK producer Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails).
