Sister Hazel continue course behind 'Release'
Alt-rockers Sister Hazel have expanded their in-progress tour behind their latest album, "Release," which surfaced last month.
The US outing, which got underway shortly after the album's Aug. 18 release, continues tonight (9/11) in Athens, GA. The Florida-based band will stop by clubs and theaters in 15 cities through early November, including a three-night stand Oct. 9-11 at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Details are shown below.
The itinerary also includes a spot on the five-night, Mexico-bound Rock Boat X cruise, which leaves from Tampa, FL Jan. 7 and returns Jan. 11. Sister Hazel co-founded the self-described "world's greatest floating music festival" in 2000. More information about the cruise is available at the band's website.
Sister Hazel unveiled its seventh studio set, "Release," last month. The new album, which peaked at No. 37 on The Billboard 200, marks the group's first new material since 2006's "Absolutely." Each of the band's five members contributed at least two songs to the 12-track set.
"Everyone got their own fingerprints all over the record," frontman Ken Block said on the band's website. "The ownership that we always felt on other records went to a different level on this one."
Editor's note: This story was edited on 9/14 to correct the peak chart position of "Release."
