Rob Thomas pushes 'Cradlesong' with fall run

Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas has lengthened his solo trek behind his recently released second album, "Cradlesong."

The pop-rocker, who announced the dates for the huge fall run earlier this summer, has finally added the venues to the schedule. Since last check, the 35-city journey includes an additional three concerts: the Sept. 18 kick-off in the Phoenix area, and the two closing shows set for Dec. 5 in Biloxi and Dec. 8 in Verona, NY. More information is shown below.

Thomas unveiled "Cradlesong," his sophomore solo album, in June. The effort peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200, just two spots below his 2005 solo debut, "...Something to Be," which made chart history when Thomas became the first male artist from a rock or pop group to debut at No. 1 with his inaugural solo album.

Thomas again joined forces with producer Matt Serletic, who helped produce his solo debut as well as Matchbox Twenty's four studio albums. The pop singer also built his own recording studio in order to keep the process closer to home.

"I built a studio in my basement, so a lot of these songs started with a drum beat," Thomas explained on his website. "Up until this point in my life, everything had been written on acoustic guitar or piano, and I'd have to wait until I got into the studio and hear musicians on it."

In 2007, Thomas reconvened with Matchbox Twenty after a five-year break to release "Exile on Mainstream," the group's fourth studio set and first new material since 2002's "More Than You Think You Are."
