Rob Zombie unleashes 'Hellbilly Deluxe 2' tour
For the first time since 2007, Rob Zombie will embark on a headlining tour, this time in support of his forthcoming solo set, "The Hellbilly Deluxe 2."
The Grammy-nominated rocker will hit the road beginning Oct. 29 in Phoenix, followed by club and theater shows in 19 cities. The outing works its way from the West Coast to the East, wrapping up Dec. 5 in Washington, DC. A special Halloween (10/31) performance in Hollywood is also on the books. Details are shown below.
Zombie's longtime bandmates--guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Tommy Clufetos--will join him on the trek, as will Nekromantix and Captain Clegg & the Night Creature, who will open all shows.
"The Hellbilly Deluxe 2," which hits shelves Nov. 10, is a companion album to the 1998 release, "The Hellbilly Deluxe." "Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool" is the new set's full official title.
"I'm bouncing off the walls like a mental patient," Zombie said in a press release. "That tells me it's time to take it to the stage and let the demons loose."
Zombie most recently released "Educated Horses," his third solo album, in 2006. Since that time, the former White Zombie frontman has written, directed and produced horror films, including the 2007 remake of the 1978 classic "Halloween" and it's sequel, "Halloween II," which hit the silver screen last month.
