Lucinda Williams weds while on 30th anniversary tour

Lucinda Williams capped off her Friday night (9/18) performance in Minneapolis with a surprise wedding to manager Tom Overby in front of friends, family and fans.

The singer/songwriter, who is in the midst of a 30th anniversary tour, performed a full 90-minute set with backing band Buick 6 before setting a more romantic tone with her own "Plan to Marry" and Hank Williams' "I'm Happy I Found You," according to published reports.

Following a poem written and read by her father, poet Miller Williams, a minister wed Williams and Overby before the crowd of nearly 1,500.

After the nuptials, Williams' backing band performed a rendition of Keith Richards' "Happy."

The Grammy-winning musician continues her fall tour tonight (9/22) with a performance in Milwaukee, followed by stops in 12 major markets through mid-October. Multiple-night runs are slated for New York City (10/3-10/5), Toronto (10/10-11) and Chicago (10/13-10/15). The full itinerary is shown below.

"Little Honey," Williams' ninth studio set, surfaced last fall and landed at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. The album features guest appearances by Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs, Charlie Louvin and a duet--"Jailhouse Tears"--with Elvis Costello.
