Warren G plots fall tour behind new album
Rapper Warren G has lined up a fall headlining tour to support his first album in four years, "The G Files," which hits stores later this month.
The trek gets underway Oct. 27 in Austin, TX, with club and theater shows lined up through November, and comes to a close Nov. 24 in San Francisco. Dates are below.
"The G Files," which is set to surface Sept. 29, is the rapper's sixth studio album, and his first since 2005's "In the Mid-Nite Hour." The forthcoming set features guest performances by Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Ice Cube, Paul Wall and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, among others.
The first single from the album, "She Got Her Own Ringtone," was released in June of last year. A second single, "Crush," featuring singer Ray J, surfaced in February.
Warren G--born Warren Griffin III--formed the hip-hop group 213 with Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg in 1990 in the trio's hometown of Long Beach, CA. Griffin participated in the notorious "Up in Smoke" rap tour in 2000, which also featured Ice Cube, Eminem, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
