Jamie Cullum readies fifth studio album

"The Pursuit," Jamie Cullum 's fifth studio effort and first in four years, will be released March 2, according to a press release.

The English jazz-pop performer had taken time off after spending two years on the road in support of 2005's "Catching Tales." "I played in other people's bands and worked with other artists, I DJ'd, made dance music with my brother and traveled," the crossover artist said in the press release.

During that time, Cullum also built his own studio and earned a Golden Globe nomination for the title song for the film "Gran Torino," which he co-wrote with Clint Eastwood.

Cullum plans to "tour relentlessly" after the album is released.
