KMFDM Gallery Spotlight: New York, NY - Sept. 25, 2009

It's human nature to try to solve puzzles, at least until that other human nature kicks in--laziness. So if you don't already know, we'll save you the trouble: the band name KMFDM stands for "Kein Mitleid Fur Die Mehrheit" (German for "No Pity for the Majority").

Although currently based in Hamburg, the industrial alt-metal group formed in Paris in 1984, and is lead by singer/songwriter, mulit-instrumentalist and producer Sascha Konietzko. Konietzko has been joined by a revolving door of members over the years, but he now performs with vocalist Lucia Cifarelli, drummer Andy Selway and both Jules Hodgson and Steve White on guitar.

Currently celebrating their 25th anniversary tour, KMFDM is performing in cities around the US through the end of October. Last weekend, the group played at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City, and LiveDaily photographer Christopher Owyoung was there to get some photos.
