All-American Rejects miss some gigs

The All-American Rejects are taking some time off so frontman Tyson Ritter can recover from an injury sustained while on tour.

"As people who have seen us play though multiple injuries know, we're a band who believes in 'the show must go on' at any costs," guitarist Mike Kennerty blogged on the band's website. "Unfortunately we've hit a day where we have to bow to uncontrollable circumstances."

Kennerty was not specific about the circumstances surrounding the cancellations, however Ritter reportedly told the the audience during the band's Sept. 26 show in West Palm Beach, FL, that he had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his knee. A YouTube video from that concert shows the lead singer with a cast from his ankle to his thigh, being assisted to the mic stand by a man dressed as a ninja.

Among the dates affected--headlining and with Blink-182 --are Oct. 2 at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheatre in Virgina Beach, VA , Oct. 3 at Caesars Palace in Atlantic City and Oct. 4 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

AAR also missed its Sept. 28 show in Birmingham, AL, and a Sept. 29 gig in St. Louis.

The band is expected to return to the stage Oct. 10 in Kuala Lumpur before heading out for a cross-Europe trek.

In November, AAR is scheduled to co-headline a US tour with Taking Back Sunday.
