The lawsuit between Eminem [ tickets ]'s music publisher and Apple Inc. over the sale of the artist's music via iTunes has been settled, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Eminem's publisher Eight Mile Style had claimed that Apple earned $2.58 million from unauthorized downloads of the hip-hop star's songs.

An attorney for Eight Mile told the Free Press that the parties settled the case to the "mutual satisfaction of both sides," adding that the details would remain confidential.

Eight Mile Style attorney Richard Busch had argued that Eminem's contract with Aftermath Records did not give the company the right to make his songs available for download at Apple's iTunes store.

Aftermath Records, founded by Dr. Dre, also was a defendant in the federal copyright infringement trial, which started Sept. 24 before a US District Judge in Detroit.
