Tim McGraw plans Chicago party to welcome 'Voice'
Tim McGraw has lined up a few concert appearances this fall, including a record-release party in Chicago later this month for a select number of fans in celebration of the singer's latest studio effort, "Southern Voice."
The country star's calendar also shows appearances in Las Vegas (10/23) and Highland, CA (11/19), following the Oct. 20 Chicago appearance--the same day "Southern Voice" hits store shelves. Tickets for the release party go on sale to the general public Friday (10/9), and a special pre-sale for McGraw's fan-club members begins today (10/7). Full information is posted at the performer's website.
McGraw's site also mentions that 2010 tour plans are in the works.
"Southern Voice," McGraw's 10th collaboration with producer Byron Gallimore, is his first studio effort since 2007's "Let It Go." The new album finds the two-time Grammy-winner tackling heavier themes than usual, according to a recent magazine interview.
"There is a lot of weight to these songs," the singer told Billboard last month. "There's some light stuff, too. That's kind of why we put out [lead single] 'Business Doing Pleasure with You' first.
"The singles that I've put out lately have had a lot of messages, so we thought it would be kind of cool to give them something a little lighter, knowing that when it got time to be heavy that we had plenty of that on the record.
"It's a Business Doing Pleasure With You" peaked at No. 13 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. The album's title track was released last last month as the second single from the set.
