Kanye West a no-show at BET Awards

Kanye West was missing-in-action at the 4th annual BET Hip Hop Awards Saturday (10/10) night, where he was nominated in several categories, according to an Entertainment Weekly report. West, whose image has taken a beating since he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech last month at the MTV Video Music Awards, was nominated for nine BET Hip Hop Awards, including Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, Producer of the Year, CD of the Year and Hustler of the Year.

Six-time nominee T.I. also was missing from the event. The rapper, who's serving time in an Arkansas prison on a federal weapons charge, won two awards, including Album of the Year.

BET also presented a posthumous DJ of the Year award to Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, who died Aug. 28 of acute intoxication from the combined effects of several drugs, including cocaine, oxycodone and Xanax.

The awards will air on Oct. 27.
