Though she has no immediate plans to tour, Madonna [ tickets ] will perform a free Nov. 5 concert at Roseland Ballroom in New York "as a special thank-you to her fans," Warner Bros. Records announced.

The pop icon rarely plays live concerts, and is capable of selling out venues several times the size of Roseland.

"This is a chance for me to get my feet wet on the stage again and a way to say thank you to an intimate group of my fans for all their support over the years," Madonna said in a statement. "It's a party that 3,000 people are invited to and I am going to sing a few songs at my party."

Perry Farrell, best known as the frontman of Jane�s Addiction and Porno for Pyros, will be among the evening�s DJs, and vocalist Beth Orton is also scheduled to make an appearance.

Tickets for the show will be given away by radio stations the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut tri-state area. No tickets will be sold.

Madonna�s month-old album "Music" has been certified double platinum (two million copies shipped in the U.S.) by the Recording Industry Association of America. Both the album and its title-track single reached No. 1 on the charts at the same time, a first for the artist, according to Warner Bros.

The follow-up single to "Music" will be the track "Don�t Tell Me. The video for the track will be directed by Jean Baptiste Mondino, who also directed videos for Madonna�s "Open Your Heart" and "Human Nature."
