The Pixies [ tickets ] have plugged a few dates into their upcoming tour marking the 20th anniversary of their classic album "Doolittle," while also revealing opening acts for the outing.

The band has extended its residency in each city on the coming trip by at least one night apiece, with three-night stands now set for Los Angeles (11/4-6), Chicago (11/19-21) and Oakland, CA (11/8-10), as well as a fourth night at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom (11/23-26). The tour kicks off Nov. 4 in Los Angeles and runs through a Dec. 1 show in Washington, DC. Dates are below.

In addition, the group has announced opening acts for the trek, which will include ex-New Order frontman's new Bad Lieutenant project, Los Angeles indie-rockers No Age and punk singer/songwriter Jay Reatard.

During the upcoming tour, the Pixies--Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering--will play 1989's "Doolittle" in its entirety, including all of the set's associated B-sides.

"We wanted to do something special for [the 20th anniversary of the release of 'Doolittle']," singer/guitarist Black Francis said in a press statement, "and we thought this was a good opportunity to play all of the songs from that album, something we don't normally do at a regular gig."

The group, which released its most recent studio album, "Trompe Le Monde," in 1991, is planning to issue a comprehensive boxed set this fall to coincide with the "Doolittle" gigs. Titled "Minotaur," the collection will house all of the band's albums, including bonus tracks and new artwork. Extensive information about the set is available at the Pixies' MySpace page.

The Pixies formed in Boston in 1986 and released five studio albums before disbanding in 1992. In recent years, the alt-rockers have reunited on occasion for sporadic one-off performances. The group most recently finished up a European tour that included appearances in France, Germany, Ireland and the UK.
