Chuck Prophet rings in new album with fall dates
With a month-long European tour recently wrapped, indie-rocker Chuck Prophet will soon embark on a North American leg behind his new studio effort, "Let Freedom Ring."
The US trek, which begins with a Nov. 6 performance in Winters, CA, will stop by clubs and theaters in 22 cities throughout the nation. The outing concludes with a Dec. 12 concert in Eugene, OR. Details are shown below.
The roadwork will be a family affair, as Prophet will be backed by The Mission Express, a four-piece band which is helmed by his wife, singer/keyboardist Stephanie Finch, and features Kevin White on bass, Todd Roper on drums and James DePrato on guitar.
"Let Freedom Ring," Prophet's latest studio set, hit shelves Tuesday (10/27). The new album--a "collection of political songs for non-political people," according to a statement posted at his website--follows the singer/guitarist's 2007 release, "Dreaming Waylon's Dreams."
Prophet recorded the 11-track effort with guitarist Tom Ayres, bassist Rusty Miller and drummer Ernest "Boom" Carter over an eight-day session in Mexico City earlier this year.
Three songs for "Let Freedom Ring," including the title track, are currently streaming at Prophet's MySpace page.
