Los Straitjackets hop on sleigh for holiday fun
Surf-rock instrumentalists Los Straitjackets will put a stranglehold on fans across North America next month as they tour ahead of their latest holiday-themed production, "Yuletide Beat."

The band--which performs in masked-Mexican-wrestler outfits--along with the tour's co-headliner, Mexican-American Elvis impersonator El Vez, will kick off the outing Dec. 1 in Atlanta. The 16-city trek will conclude Dec. 19 in San Diego, CA, at the tail end of a West Coast leg. Dates are below.
"Yuletide Beat," Los Straitjackets; follow-up to 2002's similarly themed "'Tis the Season for Los Straitjackets," features the group's unique take on 10 traditional holiday tunes, including "We Three Kings," "Jingle Bells" and "Jolly Old Saint Nick," which the Straitjackets transform ("for 1971 ambience," according to a press release) into "Groovy Old Saint Nick."
The album will available in a limited-edition, numbered pressing of 1,000, with a letter-pressed cover by Washington, DC-area poster artist El Jefe.
The band's most recent non-Christmas studio album, "The Further Adventures of Los Straitjackets," surfaced earlier this year.
