Iggy Pop and the Stooges plan 2010 'reunion' tour
Iggy Pop and the Stooges will return to the touring circuit next year, playing with guitarist James Williamson for the first time in nearly 30 years, according to a Rolling Stone report. Williamson took over lead-guitar duties for the group's 1973 release "Raw Power," so the tour is expected to focus on material from that era of the band.
Williamson steps back into the Stooges' realm after the January death of guitarist Ron Asheton.
In addition to a full-scale tour, Iggy and the Stooges are set to perform "Raw Power" in its entirety May 2-3 at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in London.
The 2010 version of the seminal punk band also will feature original drummer Scott Asheton and Minutemen bassist Mike Watt.
