Beyonce, Keri Hilson lead Soul Train Awards
After taking a two-year hiatus, the Soul Train Awards returned to the ceremony circuit Tuesday (11/3), doling out the most trophies to Beyonce and honoring Chaka Khan and Charlie Wilson in the process.
Beyonce won three of the four categories in which she was nominated, including Best R&B/Soul Artist Female, Song of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and Album of the Year for "I Am...Sasha Fierce."
Keri Hilson took home trophies for Best New Artist and Best Collaboration for "Knock You Down," featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, while Jamie Foxx won Record of the Year (Songwriter Award) for "Blame It."
Michael Jackson posthumously won the Entertainer of the Year award, as he was the sole nominee.
Chaka Khan and Charlie Wilson both received the Icon Award for their contributions to the music industry. Wilson took the stage to perform two hits: "There Goes My Baby" and "Burn Rubber" with K-Ci & Jo-Jo and Bootsy Collins.
The Atlanta event, hosted by actors Taraji Henson and Terrance Howard, featured performances by Toni Braxton, Robin Thicke, Chrisette Michele and Ryan Leslie, among others.
