98 Degrees, Jessica Simpson to perform at LIFEbeat AIDS benefit

98 Degrees, Jessica Simpson , Usher , Outkast and Baha Men will be among the artists to appear at a World AIDS Day 2000 concert to benefit the teen-focused, HIV-prevention programs of LIFEbeat. The event will take place at the Beacon Theatre in New York on Nov. 21, and will be hosted by pop star Pink and MTV VJ Carson Daly.

Tickets to the event--which will feature other artists to be announced--will go on sale on Friday (10/27) at the Beacon Theatre box office and at all Ticketmaster locations. Ticket prices weren't available at press time. (LiveDaily is a publication of Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch, which sells online tickets for Ticketmaster.)

MTV will broadcast the event on Dec. 1 as part of the cable channel's World AIDS Day programming. LIFEbeat is a national, non-profit HIV/AIDS resource and awareness group that raises money by organizing music events that benefit local AIDS service organizations and education efforts.

Concert proceeds will benefit LIFEbeat's youth HIV prevention campaign. In connection with World AIDS Day, event co-presenter Levi's Jeans will donate $1 for each visitor who logs onto its website between Dec. 1 and 7, up to $50,000.
