Pete Yorn takes on solo fall dates
Pete Yorn has launched a fall club tour of the Southern US behind his two recent releases: his fourth studio set, "Back and Fourth," and his collaboration with Scarlett Johansson entitled "Break Up."
The singer/songwriter's solo outing, which began Saturday (11/8) in Charlotte, NC, continues tonight (11/10) in Athens, GA, followed by stops in 10 cities. The club trek currently wraps up with a Dec. 11 show in Rosemont, IL. Details are below.
Utah-based indie rocker Isaac Russell will open the shows.
In June, Yorn unveiled "Back and Fourth," his fourth full-length studio album and first since 2006's "Nightcrawler."
Three months later, "Break Up" hit retailers. The nine-track album, a collaborative effort with actress/singer Johansson, peaked at No. 41 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 18 on the French Albums chart. The collection was recorded in 2006, two years before Johansson's Tom Waits covers album, "Anywhere I Lay My Head."
Yorn recently released a seven-track EP of demos, or what he calls "versions," from "Back and Fourth," available via his website.
"Now ... with the endless distribution opportunities the Internet offers, I would like to take advantage of that and provide you all with both versions of my songs ... 'demos' and 'new versions,'" Yorn stated in a message posted at his website. "I look at it as seeing a band live on different tours and they interpret a song in different ways."
