Dave Mason hits tour trail through spring

English singer/songwriter/guitarist Dave Mason has plotted a slate of US shows that kicks off this week and runs through spring in support of last year's "26 Letters--12 Notes."

The musician takes to the road Wednesday (11/11) for a performance in St. Petersburg, FL, and continues with four more shows in the Sunshine State through month's end. Two California shows are slated for mid-December, after which Mason will take a short break for the holidays. The road trip, which picks back up in 2010 beginning Jan. 19 in New York City, currently runs through a Feb. 27 concert in Pleasanton, CA. Details are below.

More appearances are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Mason, co-founder the popular rock act Traffic, released "26 Letters--12 Notes" last October. The set, which Mason produced and recorded in his California home studio, took six years to craft, according to his website.

Later this month, Mason will be honored at the Music in Media Interactive Conference in Hollywood, CA. The prolific musician, who has performed with Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton, among others, will receive the Outstanding Career Achievement Honor Nov. 21.

In 2004, Mason and the band Traffic were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The English rock outfit, which first formed in 1967, officially disbanded in 1975.
