Sting to perform with The Philadelphia Orchestra
Sting will headline a Jan. 30 show with The Philadelphia Orchestra as part of the Philadelphia's Academy of Music's Annual Anniversary Concert and Ball, according to a press release. Sting--who will perform with his own quartet as well as with the orchestra--is expected to highlight a collection of hits from The Police as well as from his solo catalog.
The classical portion of the concert will feature Rafael Fruhbeck de Durgos, chief conductor and artistic director of the Dresden Philharmonic, leading The Philadelphia Orchestra with guest tenor Juan Diego Florez.
