Pixies release 'Doolittle' live

The Pixies are releasing limited edition CD sets recorded each night of their current US tour, which features the band performing its 1989 "Doolittle" album in its entirety, according to a press release.

The individually numbered, two-disc sets will be available approximately 10 minutes after each show beginning Nov. 23, the first night of the band's four-show run in New York City. Discs recorded at shows between Nov. 8 and Nov. 23 shows will be available for purchase at the Pixies' "Doolittle Live" website.

Each $25 CD set will be mixed and mastered every night to obtain a high-quality recording. They will be limited to 1,000 per show.

The Pixies also are offering commemorative USB wristbands that include four songs recorded during the band's recent European tour. Each USB wristband also will include five Pixies videos. The commemorative USB bands also will be available at the "Doolittle Live" site.

The Pixies also are lending their name to a new iPhone App that will feature "plenty of social media features." The application will allow fans to access information about the band's music, visit blogs, buy songs, take photos and interact with other people at Pixies' concerts.
