Camera Obscura closes out fall with US club dates

Scottish indie-rockers Camera Obscura have plotted a two-week fall trek of North America in support of their April release, "My Maudlin Career."

The club and theater run, which concentrates on the eastern half of the US, kicks off Nov. 18 in New Orleans and includes a one-off Canadian performance Nov. 26 in Toronto. The group will round out the tour with a Dec. 3 concert in Athens, GA. The full schedule is shown below.

"My Maudlin Career," the band's fourth full-length studio set, surfaced in April and reached No. 32 on the UK Albums chart. Produced by Jari Haapalainen of The Bear Quartet, the 12-track release features string arrangements by Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John.

The album follows the band's 2006 effort "Let's Get Out of This Country," which was also produced by Haapalainen.

A short documentary about the band, entitled "A Band Beginning With C," is available at the Scottish group's website, along with the video for the latest single from "My Maudlin Career," "The Sweetest Thing."
