Weekend Ticketing: Dave Matthews, Elton John, McGraw-Hill, more
Tickets to all of the shows on Dave Matthews Band ’s December itinerary will go on sale on Saturday (10/28), and on-sales are also planned in the coming days for recently added dates on the Soul 2 Soul Tour, which features Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
Other notable on-sales include some Elton John performances in the southern U.S., three Prince shows and a Bob Dylan show in Maine.
Dave Matthews Band plans to spend two weeks on the road in December, when the popular rock act will play eleven shows in nine markets.
Onsale times break down this way: Tickets for Chicago and Minneapolis shows go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. Central Time, and tickets for shows in Cleveland, University Park, Pa. (Penn State), Albany, N.Y., New York City, and Philadelphia go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
At 11 a.m. Eastern Time, tickets for shows in Providence, R.I., and Boston are scheduled to go on the market. The band's shows sell out more often than not, so ticket demand may exceed supply for many shows.
Elton John , who tends to roll out his concert announcements in small batches, has unveiled plans to visit three cities in the southern U.S. during December. Tickets for all three shows are expected to go on sale on Saturday (10/28).
On Dec. 2, John is scheduled to appear at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La.; tickets are set to go on sale at 10 a.m. Central Time. On Dec. 8, John plans to stop at the Macon Centreplex in Macon, Ga., and tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
John will also appear at the Albany Civic Center on Dec. 9; tickets for that show go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
Bob Dylan has added a Nov. 13 concert at the Central Maine Civic Center in Lewiston to his itinerary; tickets go on the market on Friday (10/27) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. Tickets for several of Dylan’s other fall tour stops were still available at press time as well.
Married country music hitmakers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will again fire up their very successful Soul 2 Soul co-bill tour in late November. Tickets to five upcoming shows are expected to go on the market Saturday (10/28).
At 9 a.m. Eastern Time, tickets will be released for the duo’s appearance in Baltimore. On-sale times are set for 10 a.m. Eastern Time for shows in Cincinnati, Ohio, Richmond, Va., and Charleston, W. Va. Tickets for the McGraw-Hill show in Madison, Wis., go on sale at 10 a.m.
Prince , formerly known as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, and his band New Power Generation are planning to play at least three concerts in November. But, as usual, the mysterious folks at his Paisley Park organization aren’t saying if more dates are planned.
Promoters, however, are confirming shows on three consecutive Sundays: Cleveland on Nov. 12, Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 19 and Charlotte, N.C., on Nov. 26. Tickets to both the Cleveland and Grand Rapids shows are scheduled to go on sale on Friday (10/27) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, while tickets to the Charlotte show go on sale Saturday (10/28) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
Ticket on-sale information for many other shows is available at liveDaily's Ticket Alert.
