The Verve Pipe plots fall/winter course
Alt-rockers The Verve Pipe will support their just-released set, "The Family Album," with a scattering of US shows that run through the end of February.
The spread-out excursion focuses on the Midwest through mid-December. Following a break for the holidays, the rock quintet will return to the road for one January date, scheduled for Jan. 16 in Ann Arbor, MI. The outing finishes with a busy two-week stretch that kicks off Feb. 14 in Grand Rapids, MI, and continues through a Feb. 28 gig in Norfolk, CT. The full schedule is shown below.
The Verve Pipe, which originally formed in 1991, released "The Family Album" last month, marking the band's first new studio set in eight years. The record, which is intended for the entire family, came about after the band was approached to submit a song for a compilation album of children's music.
The group is currently at work on a new rock album, according to a press release, that is tentatively scheduled to hit shelves sometime next year.
The Verve Pipe has sold more than three million albums worldwide, largely due to the success of the band's 1996 set, "Villains," which features the chart-topping, ASCAP Award-winning single, "The Freshmen."
