Vulture Whale releases free EP

Vulture Whale has released an EP that combines the band's love of British music with its "unique brand of eccentric rock," and features frontman Wes McDonald singing in a faux British accent, according to a press release. The six-song EP, "Bamboo You," is now available for no charge at the band's website (though an email address must be provided).

In a tongue-in-cheek statement, the Birmingham, AL, band said it has "risen like a phoenix from its own ashes and--through a complex ritual involving consumption of Golden Flake potato chips and Vegemite--morphed into the best American band pretending to be a British band influenced by American music since Guided by Voices."

The EP will be available in stores on Jan. 19.
