Vulture Whale [ tickets ] has released an EP that combines the band's love of British music with its "unique brand of eccentric rock," and features frontman Wes McDonald singing in a faux British accent, according to a press release. The six-song EP, "Bamboo You," is now available for no charge at the band's website (though an email address must be provided).

In a tongue-in-cheek statement, the Birmingham, AL, band said it has "risen like a phoenix from its own ashes and--through a complex ritual involving consumption of Golden Flake potato chips and Vegemite--morphed into the best American band pretending to be a British band influenced by American music since Guided by Voices."

The EP will be available in stores on Jan. 19.
