Bill Cosby looks forward to 2010

Bill Cosby will continue his stand-up comedy touring into 2010, with the 72-year-old entertainer maintaining a steady presence on the road into early summer.

The iconic comedian and author will first continue his 2009 run, however, with a Nov. 27 Las Vegas show, followed by a Nov. 28 show in Rochester, NY. Cosby begins 2010 with shows in January and February, but slips into a regular one-city-per-week pattern beginning March 6 in Schenectady, NY.

Cosby will perform two shows per night at most stops currently on the calendar. More info is available at the performer's website.

In October, Cosby released a "socially conscious" hip-hop album, "Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency," through his website and various digital retailers. Cosby, who doesn't rap or sing on the album, acted as executive producer behind the project and developed the songs' story concepts, according to a press release.

"I don't like referring to the music as 'clean,'" Cosby said in a press statement. "What I like is what you're not going to do. You're not going to curse. You're not going to put women down. You're not going to put the glory of the gun somewhere. And you're not going to put a whole lot of violence up front like that's the thing that will cleanse you and make you feel better."

During his career, which spans five decades, Cosby has been honored with a slew of awards, including nine Grammys, the Kennedy Center Honors Lifetime Achievement Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
