Barry Manilow ready to transition to new Vegas stage

Early next year, Barry Manilow will transition from his long-running Vegas residency at the Hilton to a fresh reign of intimate club shows at Paris Las Vegas.
The legendary performer inked a deal with AEG Live that will have him gracing the Paris Theatre stage for 78 shows each year for two years. The first half of the 2010 itinerary is available now, kicking off March 5 and running most weekends through July 18. Details are shown below.

Before debuting the new residency, Manilow will finish up the five-year run of his Vegas spectacular "Ultimate Manilow: The Hits" with a three-night stint Dec. 28-30.
Directed by stage and film choreographer Jeffery Hornaday ("Flashdance," "High School Musical"), the new Paris concerts will feature songs spanning Manilow's 35-year career.
"The audience in Vegas is always energized and electric, so I know that the Paris Las Vegas is going to be a special run," Manilow said in a press release. "I'm planning something new for this performance; definitely not to be missed."

Fans can also purchase platinum experience tickets, which include a front-row seat, pre-show champagne reception and the opportunity to meet Manilow. Proceeds from these premium packages will benefit the Manilow Music Project, according to a press release. The musician started the non-profit to give middle and high school students in the Las Vegas area access to instruments.
In 2006, the acclaimed singer/songwriter/producer started a series of popular music tributes with "Greatest Songs of the Fifties." The latest in the collection, "Greatest Songs of the Eighties," surfaced late last year and features versions of chart-topping hits including Journey's "Open Arms," Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" and Phil Collins' "Against All Odds."
