Tinted Windows Gallery Spotlight: Boston, MA - Jan. 9, 2010

The members of retro-pop supergroup Tinted Windows have set their engines on cruise control. Having completed their self-titled debut album last year to rave reviews, the road to success is clearly marked.

Taylor Hanson of the all-brother trio Hanson (lead vocals) met Fountains of Wayne 's Adam Schlesinger in the mid-'90s. Hanson later bumped into former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, and after sitting in on each other's projects a few times, it was clear their was chemistry enough for a band--albeit without percussion. Consensus was they needed a drummer who could play like Cheap Trick 's Bun E. Carlos; next thing they knew Carlos was signing on and Tinted Windows was born.

The band is currently overseas for a couple of shows in Japan (1/13 & 1/15) but it's safe to assume they'll be playing additional stateside dates later this year. In the meantime, here are some photos of Tinted Windows from the set they did at Hot Stove Cool Music benefit on Saturday (1/9) at the House of Blues in Boston, courtesy of LiveDaily photographer Mary Ouellette.
