Trans-Siberian Orchestra readies 'Beethoven'-based theater run

Trans-Siberian Orchestra has unveiled a slew of spring shows, during which the rock symphony will perform "Beethoven's Last Night" in its entirety.

The intimate theater tour begins March 25 in Cincinnati, with 30 more concerts scattered throughout the eastern half of the nation. The current itinerary concludes May 2 in Grand Prairie, TX. Details are shown below.

Rock producer Paul O'Neill--the composer, lyricist and producer behind Trans-Siberian Orchestra--started the group in 1996 as an outlet for his rock operas, and tapped collaborators Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva to form the core of the writing team. The players include a hard-rock band alongside a complete orchestra and a large ensemble of lead vocalists who cover everything from rock to classical to Broadway to R&B.

Along with performing "Beethoven's Last Night," the group's 2000 release, Trans-Siberian Orchestra will also play songs from last October's "Night Castle" during the second half of the scheduled concerts.

"We always try to stay cutting edge and one step ahead of our fans' expectations, trying to make the impossible possible and the yet unimagined real," O'Neill stated in a press release.

TSO, named one of Billboard's Top 25 Touring Artists of the Decade, celebrated the No. 5 Billboard 200-chart debut of "Night Castle," which was certified gold in less than eight weeks.
