Madonna to play London at end of November
LONDON-- Madonna has announced that she will play her first British show in seven years at Londons Brixton Academy on Nov. 28. Support for the one-off event is to be provided by former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft , rockers Texas and Prodigy star Liam Howlett DJing.
No tickets are available for the private gig at which Madonna is expected to perform songs from her album "Music" for an audience of up to 3,000. The confirmation of her London show follows her five-song set at New Yorks Roseland Ballroom on Nov. 5.
U.K. tabloids have also reported that the pop queen is tipped to do an in-store signing at the HMV record store in Londons Oxford Street on Nov. 24. However, a spokesperson for Madonna told liveDaily that the rumor is not confirmed.
"Music," Madonna's tenth studio LP is currently at No. 17 after seven weeks on the Official U.K. Album Chart. It has sold over 600,000 copies in Britain to date and has been certified double-platinum.
