King of Ranchera Vicente Fernandez announces 2010 tour

Vicente Fernandez [ tickets ] is planning to take his Ranchera stylings on the road sometime later this year. Specific dates and cities have not been announced.

The "undisputed King of Ranchera" may not be well-known by contemporary-music fans, but he is one of Mexico's most recognizable and influential cultural icons. Fernandez has sold more than 50 million albums and, as an actor, has appeared in a number of films spanning three decades, according to a press release.

The global star was named Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year in 2002 and is a member of the International Latin Music Hall of Fame. He also received the Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican album for his 2009 release "Necesito de Ti."

Tour dates and on-sale information will be announced in the coming weeks.
