Manson to launch 'Holy Wood' with exclusive party

Marilyn Manson plans to mark the Nov. 14 release of his forthcoming album “Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)” (Nothing/Interscope) with a small, private concert in New York City, according to a press release from his record label. Fans will have to win invitations to the exclusive event in order to attend.

At the event, Manson and bandmates Twiggy Ramirez and John5 plan to perform an acoustic set comprising “a handful of songs never before performed acoustically, and doubtful ever to be performed that way again,” the announcement reads. The location of the private release party and concert has not been revealed.

Invitations to the event will be given to the first 100 people who buy “Holy Wood” at Tower Records at 692 Broadway in New York when the album goes on sale at midnight on Monday (11/13). A local radio station will also be awarding invitations, as will Manson’s official website, according to the announcement.

On Nov. 15, Manson is scheduled to appear on MTV’s “Total Request Live.” He and his band are currently mounting the Guns, God and Government tour, which began on Oct. 27 in Minneapolis. The outing continues on Thursday night (11/9) in Florida, where, according to the group’s latest press release, “the civic-minded band are standing by to volunteer instruction at the poll booths.”
