Kittie plans club tour, new EP due in December

The all-female, Canadian hard rock quartet Kittie is lining up a club tour to fill in the gap left by the postponement of Pantera’s tour. Kittie's new tour, which will also feature rockers Mudvayne, Apt 26 and Factory 81, will open near Boston on Nov. 18.

The teen-aged group--its record company has been marketing it into the backlash against polished teen pop acts like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera--is supporting the LP "Spit" (Artemis), which was released in January. The album spent nearly 40 weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart, peaking at No. 79.

A new Kittie EP featuring a remix of the "Spit" track "Paperdoll," as well as a video and five live songs recorded in Sweden this June, is due in stores on Dec. 12. According to the band’s official website, a limited number of the EP’s initial pressing will be numbered.

Kittie had been scheduled to open a tour with Pantera earlier this week. However, Pantera postponed its tour until next year after frontman Phil Anselmo broke his ribs.

Earlier this year, Kittie had a slot on the Ozzfest tour.
