Alt-rockers Blue October [ tickets ] will headline a rescheduled version of the Pick Up the Phone Tour, a postponed trek from last fall to benefit suicide-prevention services and raise awareness of mental-health issues.

The outing gets underway April 8 in Atlanta and continues through a May 15 show in Houston. Details are included at right.

Originally set to kick off in October, last year's dates were scrubbed when singer Justin Furstenfeld was hospitalized after suffering an "extreme mental-anxiety attack," according to a press release.

"Mental-health diseases are unpredictable," Furstenfeld said in a prepared statement issued at the time. "And on the eve of this tour in support of a cause that means the world to me, I am in need of time to heal from a setback in my own personal life, which is severe enough for me to seek hospitalization. I hope that my action to seek the strength and safety of treatment will inspire others that are suffering to do the same."

The band's fifth studio album, "Approaching Normal," surfaced last March. The record, which was produced by Steve Lillywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band) and recorded at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studios, debuted at No. 13 on The Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 4 on the magazine's Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums chart.

"Approaching Normal" follows the band's 2006 release, "Foiled," which spawned the hit single "Hate Me." That cut landed at No. 2 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and garnered regular play on mainstream radio stations nationwide.
