Thomas will perform on the same day in downtown Atlanta.

Both performances will take place following a series of 6km run/walks, which is the average distance many women and children walk every day to get water, according to the release.

Pete Wentz, Angelique Kidjo, Alexandra Cousteau and Jenny Fletcher also will support the April 18 events, which will take place in nearly 100 cities across 50 countries. Additional artists for events in Chicago, Minneapolis and New York will be announced soon.

Funds raised from the Dow Live Earth Run for Water will benefit Global Water Challenge, a coalition of non-profit organizations working to bring clean, safe drinking water to millions of people worldwide.
