Alt-metal mavens The Melvins [ tickets ] will launch a headlining tour in June on the same day their new studio album, "The Bride Screamed Murder," drops into stores.

The trek kicks off June 1 in San Diego, runs through a July 9 appearance in San Jose, CA, and includes a June 12 slot at Manchester. TN's Bonnaroo Festival.

Alt-rockers Totimoshi will support on all dates, with The Melvins' Ipecac labelmates Isis providing additional support at about half of the forthcoming shows. Details are included at right.

"The Bride Screamed Murder," The Melvins' latest studio effort, ships June 1 on Ipecac Recordings. It will be the third Melvins album to feature the band's current lineup: guitarist/vocalist Buzz Osborne, percussionist/drummer Dale Crover, drummer Coady Willis and bassist Jared Warren.

"Nude With Boots," which surfaced in 2008, was the Melvins' 16th studio album in a recording career that spans more than two decades, dating back to the group's 1986 debut EP, "Six Songs."

In 2008, the band played a pair of shows in San Francisco with its original 1983 lineup to celebrate the group's 25th anniversary and punk icon Jello Biafra's 50th birthday.
