Marilyn Manson To End US Tour With Los Angeles Makeup Show

Marilyn Manson will finish his US tour on May 8th with a makeup show to be held at the Los Angeles-area Universal Amphitheatre. Manson made the announcement on a local radio station Monday morning, characterizing the show as a gift to his fans. Ticket distribution to the event will begin on Saturday (4/17) at two ticket outlets, and requires a stub from Manson's previous area performance at the Great Western Forum.

Manson was forced to cut his Forum appearance short after falling on stage about 2/3 of the way through his regular set. Manson suffered a severe sprain which aggravated a previous ankle injury, forcing the cancellation of three subsequent shows.

The truncated performance provided a seemingly anti-climactic end to the tumultuous weeks-old co-headline combination of Manson and Hole. Hole left the tour following the Forum show, citing a poorly negotiated split in production costs that had them paying for part of Manson's extravagant stage show.

In the wake of Hole's departure, Manson picked up Florida-based band Jack Off Jill for a brief run of Southeast dates before aligning with Nashville Pussy for the remainder of the tour. Previously announced opener Monster Magnet ended their run on the tour last week and jumped straight to Metallica's tour, which starts this week in Hawaii.

In announcing the tour's final show via Los Angeles radio station KROQ, Manson noted that the band will perform for free, however a price of $14.50 will be charged per ticket to pay for production costs associated with the show. Each ticket purchased will require the buyer to turn in a stub from Manson's March 14th Forum concert. Tickets for the show will only be available at the Universal Amphitheatre box office and at a Hollywood outlet run by Ticketmaster. Manson used the opportunity of an open microphone to get in another dig at former tourmates Hole, noting, ''The biggest, best gift of all is that Hole will not be performing.''
