Green Day's tour plans continue to take shape
Green Day has announced nine new European tour dates, bringing the band’s impending overseas jaunt to a new total of 13 dates that now begin in Portugal on Nov. 27. Two dates for the band’s upcoming U.S. tour have also been confirmed, and both of those go on sale this weekend, according to venue spokespersons.
Following the Nov. 27 Euro-tour kick-off in Lisbon, Portugal, the band is scheduled to play in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain, on Nov. 28 and 29, respectively. New December dates then include three performances in Italy and two performances in Germany before the group heads to England and Scotland for three previously announced shows that include a sold-out Dec. 8 date at London’s Wembley Arena.
A new Dec. 11 date in Dublin, Ireland, is now the last date on the band’s European tour itinerary.
Green Day's U.S. tour begins in Dallas on Jan. 11, according to a band press release. No venue has been announced for that date, but a Jan. 20 performance in South Carolina and a Jan. 24 performance in Wisconsin have been confirmed by venue spokespeople. Tickets for both dates are scheduled to go on sale this Saturday (11/18).
On Thursday night (11/16) at 11 p.m., MTV will air Green Day's Oct. 11 performance in Seattle, according to the band’s official website.
Green Day is touring in support of its October release, “Warning” (Warner Bros.). “Minority,” the first single from the disc, spent six weeks in the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart, according to the press release.
