Briefly: Wyclef, Manson, MP3, ATTN: Boise, 'NSync verse

Wyclef Jean will headline New York's Carnegie Hall on Jan. 19. Special guests will include Eric Clapton, Whitney Houston and Destiny’s Child.

Rick Springfield will star in "EFX," a "show-oriented rock music" production, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, beginning Jan. 30, two shows a night, Tuesday through Saturday. The show opened in 1995.

According to a press release, "MGM Grand spent $45 million on the production and another $30 million on its permanent home, the 'EFX' Theatre, which features 6,000 lights, 85,000 watts of stereo sound, NASA computer technology and enough electricity to power 1,440 homes."

Not 1,000, not "over a thousand," but 1,440.

You know that whole Marilyn Manson -concert/drummer's-collarbone/Moby's-disapproval/Manson's-response-to-Moby brouhaha? If not, click here to read the Briefly.

Anyway, according to Wall of Sound, the Moby quote that the New York Post ran that raised Manson's hackles turned out to be a quote from 1996.

So be wary of tabloids.

Webnoize reports that MP3.com is charging users of My.MP3.com. According to the article, "For access to streaming versions of up to 25 CDs, the service is free. Access to between 26 and 500 CDs costs consumers a $50 annual fee."

ATTN: Boise:

There's a band that was supposed to come to your city on Monday (12/11) but now isn't: According to a press release, the band's recent history on stage includes these events:

* 11/12- Iowa City, IA - Band paid a patron to eat 20 Big Macs and drink Half & Half and puke
* 11/13- Fargo, ND - Band encouraged a patron to expose his genitals, and was arrested for indecent exposure
* 11/14- Sioux Falls, SD - Band encouraged and/or paid patrons to urinate on the stage (and) paid patron to puke on stage after eating Big Macs
* 11/15- Madison, WI - Band encouraged or paid a person to get naked on the balcony
* 11/16- Columbus, OH - Band paid a patron to crap his pants on stage
* 11/25- Lancaster, PA - Band paid a patron to piss his pants on stage

The show's promoter reportedly wanted to amend the band's contract to prohibit the band from engaging in acts that might violate local laws. The band members, however, felt that they would be "compromising their integrity" if they did so.

So if you were going to go to Boise on Monday to see a band with integrity, check with the venue, as the show might be canceled.

From liveDaily's 'NSync Message Board, an ode by Justin's_Crunk_Princess19:

Justin, the guy that looks so good
U would love for him to live in your neighborhood
So sweet and cool his face is fine
Thinking about him all the time
Inside, he is the sweetest guy
Nice and cute is what caught my eye
The coolest guy, he is the bomb
I know him like I know my palm
My heart beats fast when I see his face,
But I can never forget his personality, that is something that can't be erased
Ever after, that's what we'll be,
Running through my mind is he,
Looking at him, he's so fly
After seeing him, I feel like I can touch the sky
Keeping him with me everyday, he's sweeter than cake,
Everyday, I can't stop thinking about Justin Timberlake

~Eat, Breathe, Live, & Love *NSYNC!~

"Oh, to be 19 again," was our first thought after reading this.

But then we thought, "Wait a minute. Even though we're no longer 19, we here at liveDaily Briefly are not without our passions."

And so, inspired by Justin's_Crunk_Princess19, we offer this verse:

Naps are the oasis in the desert of life
A nap is your mother, a nap is your wife
Please don't interrupt when I'm taking my nap
    Something something something ... I don't know, I'm tired.
