Everlast plots first 16 dates of North American tour
Everlast , who recently completed a string of radio festival performances, plans to kick off 2001 with a North American headlining club tour beginning in January, according to his management. The R&B singer-rapper spent most of the fall opening for both Santana and the Wallflowers.
On Jan. 25, Everlast is slated to kick-off the first leg of his headlining tour in support of “Eat at Whitey’s” (Tommy Boy) at the House of Blues in Chicago. Stops in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Chicago follow by month’s end.
February dates begin on Feb. 2 in Detroit, with subsequent stops in Cleveland and Toronto before the outing heads to the Northeast. Performances in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Washington, D.C., are planned, with a Feb. 17 stop in Virginia Beach wrapping up the current itinerary.
More North American dates are expected, and a European tour will follow in the spring, according to management.
“Eat at Whitey’s” was released in October, and was certified gold on Monday (12/18) by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping 500,000 copies since its release. The album is the follow-up to Everlast’s 1998 double-platinum “Whitey Ford Sings the Blues.”
