Craig David leads nominees for Brit Awards
LONDON-- Craig David , Coldplay and Radiohead received multiple nominations for this year's Brit Awards, and international acts Britney Spears, Eminem and U2 are among the other nominees, organizers announced on Monday (1/15).
R&B singer David received four nominations (Best British Album, Best British Dance Act, Best British Male, Best British Newcomer - R&B/Urban), the most of any artist this year.
Mellow guitar band Coldplay scored three nominations (Best British Album, Best British Group, Best British Newcomer - Indie), and Radiohead (to whom Coldplay is often compared) was tapped for two nominations (Best British Album, Best British Group).
International acts receiving nominations included U2 (Best International Group); Ricky Martin and Eminem (Best International Male Solo Artist); and Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears (Best International Female Solo Artist).
The Brit Awards 2001 ceremony will take place at Earl’s Court on Feb. 26.
