Offspring Slip Hometown Club Show Into Next Leg Of Tour Dates

The Offspring will kick of the next leg of their world tour on Wednesday (6/14) with an intimate showcase at a 140-capacity club in their hometown of Huntington Beach, it was announced Friday.

By Sunday, staffers at the 13th Floor club said that tickets, sold at the club for $5, were gone almost immediately once the show news became public.

The show will kick off the band's second round of U.S. tour dates since the November, 1998 release of ''Americana.'' The album has since achieved quadruple-platinum status, indicating shipment of over 4 million copies, and currently holds the #30 berth on the Billboard pop album chart.

The band will follow their tiny club performance with two shows at the nearby 15,000-capacity Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. From there, a brief West Coast run will jump to the East Coast beginning with the band's performance at Woodstock on July 23rd. A brief run of East Coast dates will precede European and Japanese tours.
