Ozzfest Locks In Lineup, Tour Dates, Initial Round Of Ticket Sales

Ozzfest will make its third journey across North America beginning May 27th in West Palm Beach, FL. The outdoor amphitheatre tour is initially slated to play 28 shows in 25 markets, ending at the Los Angeles-area Blockbuster Pavilion. Tickets for several of the early dates on the itinerary are set to go on sale Saturday (4/10).

The 1999 main stage lineup will feature Black Sabbath (in the announced end to their reunion tour), Rob Zombie, the Deftones, Slayer, Primus, Godsmack and System of a Down.

The tour's second stage lineup will be headed by Fear Factory, who replaces originally announced road veterans Judas Priest. Fear Factory's cohorts on the second stage will include Drain STH, Static-X, Hed(pe), Pushmonkey, Slipknot, Puya, Flashpoint and Apartment 26.

Black Sabbath will use the tour to fill out the final legs of their reunion tour, which began with a New Year's Eve show and spent the winter as one of the stronger arena outings of early 1999. The tour marked the return of Ozzfest leader Ozzy Osbourne to the Sabbath lineup after a twenty-year separation.

At press time, tickets for West Palm Beach, Holmdel, NJ and Mansfield, MA were set for sale on Saturday (4/10). A final list of weekend sales will appear in Livedaily.com Weekend on Friday morning.
