Willie Nelson plots more tour dates
Willie Nelson has added the first batch of Northeast stops to his 2001 touring schedule. The veteran country singer-songwriter has also moved the start date of his impending outing--which now has dates scheduled through April 21--up one day to Feb. 1.
Nelson’s latest album, “Milk Cow Blues” (Island), was released in September of last year. The album contains blues versions of some of Nelson’s previously-released gems--including “Crazy” and “Night Life”--as well as covers of several blues classics. Blues notables such as B.B. King , Keb’ Mo, Francine Reed, Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd guest on various tracks.
A 2-CD Farm Aid compilation was also released last September, on which Nelson is featured performing a duet with alternative artist Beck on a cover version of Jimmie Rodgers' "Peach Picking Time Down in Georgia."
Nelson has been on the road almost non-stop since the release of his 1998 album, “Teatro,” and is expected to continuing touring well into 2001, according to a spokesperson.
