Final dates added to matchbox twenty tour
Matchbox twenty has tacked 17 more dates to its upcoming North American tour with Everclear and Lifehouse . The dates are the last that will be added to the run, which is now set to end on April 22, according to Atlantic Records.
Tickets for a number of shows--both new and previously announced--are set to go on sale this Saturday (2/3) and Sunday (2/4).
Several dates on the upcoming tour sold out shortly after tickets were released, according to a band press release. The group’s March 2 date at Chicago’s Allstate Arena sold out in 20 minutes, and the March 16 show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden did so in 45 minutes. The Detroit- and Boston-area concerts, meanwhile, sold out in four hours.
Matchbox twenty is touring in support of “Mad Season” (Atlantic), which was released last May. The album was recently nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rock Album category, and the hit single “Bent” picked up a nod in the Best Rock Song category.
Everclear is touring in support of its two 2000 releases: "Songs from an American Movie, Vol. Two: Good Time for a Bad Attitude" (Capitol) and "Songs from an American Movie, Volume One: Learning How to Smile."
Lifehouse is supporting its debut album, "No Name Face," (DreamWorks), which was released in October 2000.
